General information on Whip Fin Fairy Wrasse
The Whip Fin Wrasse is a native of the Indian Ocean. This species is a distinct wrasse due to its long dorsal fin which could be longer than the fish. The body of the wrasse is a vibrant red hue, while the lower portion of its body is white. The dorsal fin, on the other hand, is dyed yellow, and highlighted with blue. Males during courtship will show off their stunningly colored fins to try to convince their mates. Colors can change based on the mood of the fish. It is believed that the Whip Fin Wrasse is a calm active fish that will bring color and lots of activity to your tank that is a reef or fish-only aquarium. They usually reside in a medium-sized tank or larger. When they are maintained in conjunction with the other Cirrhilabrus or Paracheilinus wrasses, they may be territorial and take over the species that are similar to them. Whip Fin Fairy Wrasse does not cause harm to any corals or invertebrates, making them the ideal fish to be kept in the aquarium reef. These wrasses love jumping and so a well-fitting canopy is advised.
