Juveniles range from black to brown in color, with nine spots of white. When the Axilspot Hogfish grows and develops, three gorgeous false eyes will grace the striking coloration that ranges from its fuchsia-colored head to an ethereal yellow tail. A sharp angle to the middle of the body, which is marked in white makes the hogfish appear to be half-dipped and with the remaining half dipped in sunlight. A 70 gallon or bigger aquarium with hiding spots should be available. It is recommended to have a hiding place. Axilspot Hogfish is tranquil fish that is able to adapt quickly to the majority of aquariums. In the event that more than one Axilspot Hogfish are being placed in the tank it's crucial to add them at the same time as they can be somewhat territorial among them.
