General information on Singular Bannerfish
The Singular Bannerfish is a spectacular butterflyfish in the family of Chaetodontidae that packs a visual impact while also offering ease of handling. Like other species belonging to the Genus Heniochus the Singular Bannerfish sports a lengthened dorsal ray which creates an instantly identifiable and distinct look that is reminiscent of a banner. While it is similar in appearance as other Heniochus species, at first glance, however, the heniochus singularius is relatively uncommon in the world of aquariums. It is a great addition to collectors, as well as any marine enthusiast looking for an exceptional specimen. Its appearance is similar to other Heniochus species. Singular Bannerfish is distinguished from other Bannerfish by distinct patterns of banding. The Singular Bannerfish has a white band around its mouth, and is followed by a series of black bands, including an entire ocular band that begins above and extends beyond the eye to its chin. The second, black, mid-body band lies behind the dorsal fin. The final black band seamlessly changes into a striking yellow, canary coloration that runs along the dorsal ridge and the caudal fin. Adult and juvenile Singular Bannerfish vary in appearance and appearance, with the most notable being the long and white-colored banner that is typical of youngsters Singular Bannerfish that accentuates the distinctive, deltoid-looking body shape. Adults of maturity have a smaller banner and take on larger body shapes closer to the traditional Butterflyfish form. Additionally, the adult Singular Bannerfish features a beautiful reticulated design identical to the coveted Wrought Iron Butterflyfish. The largest of the Bannerfish that is, this Singular Bannerfish makes an impressive display, either in a single display or as smaller groups. Keep this Singular Bannerfish in a large aquarium that is surrounded by other peaceful fish as well as others from the same species in the event that all fish were brought to the tank simultaneously. It is possible that the Singular Bannerfish may require extra TLC in the beginning of acclimating to the aquarium at home.
