Integrated 3-Stage Filtration

A comprehensive 3 Stage Filtration system keeps the JBJ Aquarium 28G Nano Cube AIO sparkling clean and is discreetly hidden behind a false wall to provide an uncluttered and professional look and feel. All media can be conveniently stored in our transparent removal filter media Basket for fast and simple filter changes. The basket for filter media includes a handle as well as a sliding door for added convenience. It can also be transformed into an "In tank Refugium" to produce Chaetomorpha.

Mechanical Filtration

Chemical Filtration

This bag eliminates organic compounds that are dissolving and also odor.

Biological Filtration

Ceramic Ring bag offers external and internal space for storing beneficial bacteria that can oxidize toxic ammonia and nitrite, which can be found in aquariums from food wastes of the fish, over-feeding, and other biological processes. Note: Ceramic Ring bag can be removed in the event of you intend to use the Nano Cube as a mini-reef aquarium. The average of 1lb for every gallon that is live will result in an active biological filtration system, as also a denitrification system, ultimately creating a biotope that is balanced.

Submersible Pump

The hose is flexible and comes with an elbow connector. (2) Accela SP1-1000 Pumps with a rating of 266 gph, Ocean Pulse Duo Wavemaker (2) Directional flow nozzles.

Dual Return Pumps

Once the water is cleaned and heated after which it is directed back into the aquarium through (2) the directional flow nozzles as well as a wavemaker. Dual return pumps in conjunction together with the wavemaker create natural turbulent currents typically found in reef environments.

The Ocean Pulse Wavemaker can be adjustable from 10 seconds to 6-minute intervals. The alternation will prevent debris from building up, provide oxygen, eliminates waste from coral polyps, and creates the ideal conditions for corals to thrive.

Helpful Questions From Clients
Frequently Asked Questions
Is hiring a professional necessary to set up a saltwater aquarium?

As a general rule, a larger custom aquarium might require installation by a professional. However, a kit from our online fish store is relatively affordable and beginner friendly. That means you should have no problem setting it up yourself.

Which saltwater aquarium fish should you choose when starting out?

Consider a yellow tang fish. This popular saltwater aquarium fish does a great job of coexisting with other types of fish you’ll find in our online fish store.

How does a saltwater aquarium differ from a freshwater one?

Saltwater aquariums require a bit more maintenance and monitoring than freshwater tanks. Different fish require different levels of salinity, pH tolerances, and temperature requirements. They also require specialized pumps, filters, and other equipment that can handle salt. We can guide you through everything you need to know to set up a healthy, thriving reef tank.

Do fish in a saltwater aquarium swim in a school?

That depends on the species. However, if it’s a fish that swims in a school in the wild, they’ll do the same in an aquarium. Some fish that swim in schools include the green and blue chromis, cardinalfish, and dartfish, for example. When ordering from an online fish store, make sure you do your research on how specific fish species behave to ensure they’ll school (or at least coexist) with your current fish.

Is the effort required to maintain a saltwater aquarium worth it?

Yes! Many aquarists dream of owning thriving saltwater aquariums. You have a tiny piece of the ocean in your home, featuring magical and exotic fish that can only survive in saltwater.
