Gyre 4K Gyre 4K Uses Revolutionary Crossflow Technology

Wavemakers excel at creating waves. While waves are breathtaking to view when they're in motion, they're making the majority of water vertically, up and down and down, but with relatively little horizontal motion, particularly close to in the middle of an aquarium. However they excel in transporting the fluidity of the water moving from one end in the tank to next. The water's flow is enough to cause it to bounce back off the opposite direction to ensure the full circulation of the aquarium. i.e. producing ""gyre flow.""

Why has Gyre pump taken over the world of aquariums to the forefront? Three main reasons:

  1. They do not leave dead areas in your aquarium.
  2. This flow will be evenly dispersed across the entire aquarium.
  3. The water bounces from the opposite side of the tank creating a complete circulation for your Gyre pattern.
The three main points are against the efficiency of propeller pumps that once controlled our pastime. They can certainly transport water. However, they donaEUR(tm)t perform it as effectively and as effectively as Gyre! For instance: Advantages of Propellers with Standard Nozzle Pumps
  1. The ) Relatively weak water movement that leaves dead spots in their aftermath.
  2. B)There is a massive flow in the center however, it is not present elsewhere. This makes the coral's placement difficult.
  3. C)The water movement is not as strong at the opposite side of the aquarium, and was not intended for the recirculation of water.

What makes a Gyre Generator superior to Wavemaker?

Wavemakers excel in making waves. While waves are spectacular to watch in motion, they are moving the majority of the water vertically up and down, with relatively low horizontal movementaEUR"especially near the bottom of the aquarium. However the Gyre excels at generating huge movement of water from one end of an aquarium and the opposite. The amount of water is massive that the water bounces back off of the opposite side of the aquarium in order to create a full flow within the tank. Also, we refer to it, creating a "aEURoegyre flow.aEUR"

Helpful Questions From Clients
Frequently Asked Questions
Is hiring a professional necessary to set up a saltwater aquarium?

As a general rule, a larger custom aquarium might require installation by a professional. However, a kit from our online fish store is relatively affordable and beginner friendly. That means you should have no problem setting it up yourself.

Which saltwater aquarium fish should you choose when starting out?

Consider a yellow tang fish. This popular saltwater aquarium fish does a great job of coexisting with other types of fish you’ll find in our online fish store.

How does a saltwater aquarium differ from a freshwater one?

Saltwater aquariums require a bit more maintenance and monitoring than freshwater tanks. Different fish require different levels of salinity, pH tolerances, and temperature requirements. They also require specialized pumps, filters, and other equipment that can handle salt. We can guide you through everything you need to know to set up a healthy, thriving reef tank.

Do fish in a saltwater aquarium swim in a school?

That depends on the species. However, if it’s a fish that swims in a school in the wild, they’ll do the same in an aquarium. Some fish that swim in schools include the green and blue chromis, cardinalfish, and dartfish, for example. When ordering from an online fish store, make sure you do your research on how specific fish species behave to ensure they’ll school (or at least coexist) with your current fish.

Is the effort required to maintain a saltwater aquarium worth it?

Yes! Many aquarists dream of owning thriving saltwater aquariums. You have a tiny piece of the ocean in your home, featuring magical and exotic fish that can only survive in saltwater.
