This species that is native to the Indo-Pacific reefs favors settings that have open swimming areas but also with numerous hiding spots. The Agile Chromis tends to avoid the other invertebrates, fish, or corals, but some might exhibit territorial behaviour towards its own species or similar-sized fish. The Agile Chromis should be placed in groups of three or more, which are comprised of odd-numbered fish. Place them in suitable systems that are sized for them and have peaceful tank mates. A diet for the Agile Chromis must be varied, and comprise of fleshy food items as well as herbivore flakes and frozen meals. Vitamin-rich foods can also aid in preserving body color.
