Midnight Nox Angelfish Information
The Midnight Nox Angelfish (Centropyge nox), commonly known as the Black Nox Angelfish, is a rare dwarf angelfish admired for its solid jet-black coloration. Its bold appearance and active personality make it an excellent choice for hobbyists looking to add something truly unique to a saltwater aquarium. This species does best in a mature 70-gallon or larger aquarium with plenty of live rock for grazing and hiding. While generally peaceful toward unrelated fish, the Midnight Nox Angelfish can become territorial with other dwarf angelfish and is best kept as the only member of its kind. In reef aquariums, it may occasionally nip at soft corals, zoanthids, and clam mantles.Diet & Nutrition
Midnight Nox Angelfish are omnivores that spend much of the day grazing on algae and naturally occurring organisms found on live rock. Feeding a varied diet helps maintain their health, coloration, and activity level.- Offer Spirulina, marine algae, sponge-based angelfish foods, frozen mysis shrimp, enriched brine shrimp, and other meaty marine foods.
- Feed two or three small meals throughout the day.
- Provide mature live rock to encourage natural grazing behavior.

- Keep stable water parameters in a well-established marine aquarium.
- Avoid housing with other dwarf angelfish unless the aquarium is very large.

Behavior
- Active throughout the day and constantly exploring rockwork.
- May become territorial as it matures.
- Captive breeding is extremely rare, and males and females cannot be visually distinguished.
