Coral Beauty Angelfish – Vibrant Color and Hardy Personality
The Coral Beauty Angelfish (Centropyge bispinosa) is a small marine angelfish known for its intense coloration and ease of care. Its deep indigo-blue body is streaked with glowing orange or golden-yellow highlights, creating a fiery contrast that varies based on its native habitat. Growing up to 4 inches (10 cm), this fish is a resilient and visually stunning addition to fish-only saltwater aquariums.
To thrive, Coral Beauties need at least a 70-gallon tank with plenty of live rock and secure hiding places. Though often considered for reef systems, they’re not fully reef-safe—they may nip at corals, clam mantles, and polyps, especially in smaller setups or when underfed.
Coral Beauty Angelfish Diet
In the wild, Coral Beauties graze on algae, sponges, and small invertebrates. In your aquarium, they’ll do best on a balanced, varied diet such as:
-
Spirulina and marine algae
-
Mysis or brine shrimp
-
Frozen angelfish blends with sponge content
-
High-quality meaty foods
Feed two to three times daily unless your tank has abundant live algae growth.
