How the IceCap Algae Scrubber Works

The scrubber is positioned outside the sump. Water flows through the scrubber via the IceCap EVO pump, trickling down the screen illuminated by LEDs on both sides. Algae grow on the screen, scrubbing the water of excess nutrients.

Harvesting Algae

1. Remove the Top & Screen: Loosen the union and lift the pipe and algae screen.
2. Rinse and Scrape: Under running water, scrape off algae but leave some behind for faster regrowth.

Optimal Use & Scheduling

• Run on Reverse Daylight Schedule: To stabilize the aquarium’s pH, run the LED lights for 12 hours opposite to the tank’s daylight.
