Barrier Reef Chromis InformationThe Barrier Reef Chromis (Chromis nitida) as the name implies is found across The Great Barrier Reef of Australia. They sport a white body with a black diagonal line and a yellow dorsal portion. They feed on tiny planktonic crustaceans like mysis and krill, and are a great choice for heavily rocked aquariums. They can be kept as a single or in pairs and schools. They grow to an average dimension of 3 inches. However, they shouldn't be kept in an aquarium that houses larger, predatory fish. They're suitable for reef aquariums, but they shouldn't be kept in a tank with smaller valuable invertebrates, like Venus Shrimp or Bumblebee Shrimp since they might attempt to consume them. They should be kept in an aquarium of at least 20 gallons.
