It was not known until as recently as 1999 the Yellowfin Flasher wrasse is one of the latest and most thrilling wrasses to be introduced to the world of hobby. This calm, yet lively show-stopper is a great addition to any peaceful reef aquarium. The female's color is more muted when compared with the brilliance of male. Males during courtship will alter color rapidly and hence its name. The colors can vary based on the mood of the fish and their age However, most males are vivid red with a slight blue running across the bottom of the dorsal. There is often a subtle blue stripe that runs all the way down the back from the middle part of the caudal fin (tail). The fish are distinctive in that they have one to four filaments that are red/orange off of the dorsal fin. These may change color to yellow or white when they are courting. In their natural habitats, Yellowfin Flasher Wrasse is observed from shallow crests up to levels of up to 114 feet in reefs that are protected. It is important to have ample rockwork to build an area to sleep, although generally, Yellowfin Flasher Wrasse likes to school on the bottom of the ocean alongside other Wrasse. One male could be kept in women which are introduced prior to or in the same manner in the same manner as males. They love to jump, which is why the use of a sturdy canopy is suggested. Flasher wrasses need to be fed three or four times a day to keep their weight. Because they eat Zooplankton and do not often grab at living organisms on rocks, they won't flourish in the reef tank if they're fed less frequently. The Yellowfin Flasher Wrasse diet must include vitamin-rich frozen mysis shrimp, vitamin-enriched brine shrimp that are frozen, as well as other meaty foods, in addition to a high quality marine, and marine pellet diet. A high-quality protein skimmer, as well as live sand, will help decrease the number of dissolved organics due to this feeding routine that is more regular.
