Fish may even eat it, The fungus will not last long! Moss, Anubias, and Java Fern look beautiful attached to this wood!

About

This Wood is considered a softwood because of its ability to remain always green throughout its life. It is a rapidly growing plant, which will produce a material lighter than different kinds of driftwood. In some regions around the globe, this kind of wood is referred to simply as Rhododendron roots because of its source. Other terms commonly used within the field are Azalea roots, Rhododendron Roots, Indian Spider Wood as well as Red Spider Wood. It is a bit difficult to define quickly due to its unpredictable growth pattern and variation. The most effective method to describe it is to make use of the analogy of a dead spider. Rhododendron roots sprout stalks that grow in a variety of ways, with no particular order. Branching can appear twisty straight, straight, or bent back to the original mass.

What is Spider Wood?

Spider Wood is a type of driftwood that is rapidly becoming popular in the aquarium world. The wood is sourced from the roots of various species of the Genus Rhododendron. They are a kind of shrub that develops with roots that are shallow and often over the soil. The root of this shrub gets its name "Spider Wood" because of the peculiar shape of its branches, which often resemble the dead body of a spider. It originates in dense forests in North America as well as regions of Asia. The surroundings are typically packed with shade and bright due to indirect sunlight. The soil they will live in for their entire lives is well-drained and acidic, allowing it to spread easily across vast areas of soil.
