Scarlet Pin Stripe Wrasse

A Scarlet-colored Stripe Wrasse is often known as the Secretive Wrasse and Striated Wrasse. This stunning fish has deep red-maroon color , with a few thin horizontal stripes that run along the body, from the gill to the covering. A thin streak of blue, or insignia can be seen underneath each eye. It needs a 30 gallon or larger tank that has plenty of hideouts and live rock where they can hunt to find food. It can be aggressive towards peaceful wrasses, therefore it is recommended to introduce this species last in the aquarium. It is looking for living food sources that are tiny crustaceans, such as the pyramidellid snails (clam parasites) flatworms (commonsal) and bristleworms. These make this fish a perfect option for the reef aquarium. It is recommended that the Scarlet Pin Stripe Wrasse diet should comprise vitamin-enriched frozen mysis shrimp, vitamin-enriched brine shrimp frozen in brine, and other meaty food items, in addition to an excellent sea flake as well as marine pellets.
