ORA® Zombie Clownfish is an original designer clownfish that has an unusual and unique appearance that is sure to attract attention. As if a fish has come back from the dead the ORA Zombie Clownfish is truly one of the distinctive species from Black Ocellaris Clownfish currently available in the marketplace. The ORA Zombie Ocellaris Clownfish are neon-orange juveniles sporting blood red eyes with an iridescent body. As it grows and matures, the ORA Zombie Ocellaris Clownfish starts to show different degrees of its parental black Ocellaris pigmentation with layers of smoky grey and neon-orange splotches, culminating in the final appearance of dusky colors. This ORA Zombie-Ocellaris Clownfish's broodstock is derived from the specimens ORA received from the clownfish breeder Robert King. Robert named the creatures Zombies at the time he noticed them in an offspring clutch which he had raised from two normal-looking wild type Black Ocellaris grandparents. This ORA Zombie Ocellaris Clownfish does best when kept in an aquarium that is at least 20 gallons, or greater and with lots of rock. It could create a symbiotic relationship with the following species of anemones: Carpet (Stichodactyla Sp. ), Sebae (Heteractis crispa), Bulb (Entacmaea quadricolor), or Ritteri (Heteractis magnifica) Anemones. Although it is true that the ORA Zombie Ocellaris Clownfish does not require an anemone in order to flourish if you decide to house an anemone ensure that the lighting system and aquarium can accommodate the requirements of your host anemone prior to including it in the aquarium. The captive-bred clownfish, such as that of the ORA Zombie Ocellaris Clownfish possess distinct advantages in comparison to wild caught species. First, captive-bred fish are very robust and at ease with conditions in home aquariums. This is why this ORA Zombie Ocellaris Clownfish makes an excellent choice for beginners as well as experienced aquarists. The ORA Zombie Ocellaris Clownfish can be kept alongside various other clownfish that are captive-bred, in the event that they are introduced into the aquarium in the same way. Like other clownfish that are captive-bred, they can be bred in the home aquarium with ease. It's one of the most popular "starter" fish that are suitable for breeders of saltwater fish. Females will be more dominant of the two and the two fish usually remain close to one another within the tank. This ORA Zombie Ocellaris Clownfish is an egg laying fish. It will usually lay eggs in flat areas near the anemone's base. It will also defend the eggs from tankmates. The eggs are usually born within 6 to 11 days, depending on the temp. The fry should be kept in separate tanks with a diet consisting of the rotifers and baby brine shrimp. The ORA Zombie Ocellaris Clownfish is an omnivore that requires fleshy and meaty foods, along with certain greens to supplement their diet. A premium marine flake food with a high content of spirulina alga and frozen and freeze-dried foods is easily accepted. Approximate Purchase Size: 3/4" to 1-1/4"
