Based on ORA® the popular Captive-Bred Snowflake Clownfish was originally created in the Tropical Marine Centre in the UK around 1999. Around 100 specimens were shipped to the United States, making the F1 Snowflake broodstock direct from TMC extremely rare. ORA acquired its initial pair of F1 Snowflakes in 2005 and has been working to develop an even more durable and vibrant version of this gorgeous clownfish since then. Snowflake Clownfish are popular variants of A. Ocellaris, which have significant amounts of white marks that are irregular throughout the body. Edges of white coloring are usually jagged and sharp. Each Snowflake is graded by a qualified grader to determine the proportion of white and the beauty that the stripes appear. Like their name implies there are no two identical! This species of the Pomacentridae family makes a wonderful option for almost every saltwater aquarium. The captive-bred fish have a unique benefit over species that are harvested wild since they're typically resilient and more accustomed to the conditions of the home saltwater aquarium. Thus, captive-bred fishes are an excellent choice for beginners and experienced aquarists alike. The Captive-Bred Snowflake Clownfish from ORA can be easily bred in your home aquarium. Females will be the largest of the two The two species typically stay close to one and in the aquarium. Clownfish lay eggs and deposit them on flat surfaces and protect the eggs from tankmates. The eggs usually hatch between 8 and 11 days, depending on the temperature of the water. The fry need to be raised in a separate tank eating rotifers and then baby brine shrimp. The Snowflake Clownfish diet consists of meaty foods and herbivore recipes. Info on ORA® Captive-Bred Snowflake Clownfish Snowflake Ocellaris Clownfish is a color variation of the standard Ocellaris Clownfish. Like snowflakes, none of these distinctive fish look like each other. The color of the body and general shape that make up Snowflake Ocellaris Clownfish are similar to the normal Ocellaris Clownfish, but the stripe pattern is distinct. The three white stripes on the body are exaggerated, and they have different designs and shapes. The grading on Snowflake Clownfish is based on the size and amount of irregular white. In the normal class of Snowflake Ocellaris Clownfish, the body stripes have irregular edges. All three body stripes can be distinguished.   Diet of ORA® Captive-Bred Snowflake Clownfish The majority of clownfish are omnivorous eaters and will consume a variety of types of food. In nature, the diet of clownfish is comprised of crustaceans (such as amphipods and copepods) as well as polychaete worms, algae, and the leftovers of eating anemones. These captive-bred fish have been equipped to consume a range of diets for aquariums such as pellets as well as flake fish foods, frozen foods, Mysis shrimp, and brine shrimp.
