The Decorated Rabbitfish, also known as the Masked Spinefoot, usually travels in pairs along coral reefs in the Indo-West Pacific. It is oblong-shaped. It is adorned with beautiful yellow marks with an orange tail and back. Its eyes are covered with a dark stripe that extends from the mouth's bottom up to the very top. When the black stripe passes the eye, it turns visible, giving an intriguing appearance for this Rabbitfish. It needs a larger or 180-gallon aquarium. It is a peaceful species, except for when it is kept in a group with other Rabbitfish. It is a very peaceful species, but the Decorated Rabbitfish may be housed with other fish that are more aggressive and may be maintained in groups. The predators of this fish will usually avoid it because of its spines with venom that it may raise in the event of being disturbed. It is important to be cautious when handling the fish to be safe from being infected by its venomous spines. Rabbitfish are generally safe for reefs if they are fed well. If not, it's possible to have them nibble at and eat some species of soft and LPS corals. Its diet should include various vegetable matter and algae. General information on Decorated Rabbitfish The Decorated Rabbitfish usually travels in groups among those reefs that are found in Indo-West Pacific. It has an oval shape to its body. It has beautiful yellow marks with an orange tail and back. Its eyes are obscured with a dark stripe that extends from the lower part of the mouth towards the crown of its head. As the black stripe moves past the eye, it turns visible, giving a unique look to the Rabbitfish. It requires a large aquarium. It is a peaceful species, except for when it is kept in a group with other Rabbitfish. The Decorated Rabbitfish may be housed with fish that are more aggressive and may be placed in pairs. The predators of this fish will usually ignore it due to its dorsal spines with venom that it may raise when it is disturbed. It is important to be cautious when handling this fish in order to ensure that you are not injured by its venomous spines. Rabbitfish are usually reef-safe provided they are fed properly. If not, it's possible for them to nibble at and eat certain species of soft and LPS corals.
